About Hatsing

Hatsing is an independent violin practice project publishing free first-position scales, note charts, fingerings and printable practice pages.

What this site is

Hatsing is an independent violin practice project. We publish free, first-position references for beginners: scales, note names, fingerings, and printable practice pages.

The goal is simple: make the first months of violin practice easier to see, hear and repeat.

How the charts are made

Scale notes are built from standard major and natural minor patterns, then mapped to first-position strings and fingers. Charts are checked against common violin syllabi and standard practice references.

Fingerings are a simplified guide. Hand size, string choice and the music that follows can change a fingering, so a teacher should check your hand frame.

Editorial standards

We cite the reference material we use and correct errors when they are reported.
